An old bottling of (Royal) Lochnagar 12 year old. The distillery lies near to Balmoral Castle and was reputedly a favourite of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. We estimate this bottle dates from the 1970s.
An official bottling of 12 year old Highland Park in the distillery's classic 1980s dumpy bottle. In 1979, the owners invested in marketing the single malt, which led to a massive increase in sales at the time this bottle would have been released.
A big bottle of Glendronach 12 year old. The distillery was mothballed between 1996 to 2002 and since its reopening has experienced something of a renaissance. In 2009, the core range was relaunched and the 12 year old is now fully matured in Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks to give a deliciously rich and spicy malt.
A remarkably dark 12yo Knockando 1996 bottled at full strength from a sherry cask (surely a first-fill) for the Managers' Choice series. It's fair to say that this will likely be somewhat more intense than the standard 12yo.
The 4th release of Lagavulin's entry in Diageo's yearly Special Releases collection - the ever reliable 12 year old. Fresher and more feisty than the 16 year old, it's both an excellent whisky in its own right as well as a way to see how Lagavulin develops over the years.
An old bottling of 12 year old Linkwood. We estimate this was bottled in the 1970s, a decade which saw the original two stills at the distillery joined by four new ones, which helped to increase capacity.
