A 2000 vintage Edradour, which was aged for 8 years in a hogshead before being transferred to an ex-Chardonnay cask for 4 and a half years. Released as part of the distillery's ongoing Straight From the Cask series of bottlings which use a variety of different wine casks to finish their whiskies.
This organic expression of 12 year old whisky from Loch Lomond was a limited release in 2013. Certified by the Soil Association, this was one of the last bottlings to be released under Sandy Bulloch's ownership before the distillery was sold to the Loch Lomond Group in March 2014.
Relaunched in 2011, Glenmorangie's sauternes-finished Nectar d'Or is now proudly boasting a prominent age statement that wasn't there before, proclaiming it to be 12 years old. Give it a couple of years and it'll be growing a weedy moustache on its top lip. IWSC 2012 Gold Medal Winner
A potent, high-strength 12yo single malt from Benriach with one extremely unusual feature - it's been triple-distilled. Horizons has also been finished in sherry casks after initial maturation in bourbon wood, and has been bottled without colouring or chill-filtration. IWSC 2011 Gold Medal Winner
An old bottling of National Choice 12 Year Old blended Scotch whisky. The brand was owned by Eadie Cairns, owners of Auchentoshan, and we estimate this bottle – with illustration of Red Rum – dates from the 1980s.
The 2010 official release for Hazelburn, Springbank's triple-distilled, unpeated single malt, which is now fully mature. It's quite a colour too, suggesting some sherry influence in the final make-up. Well-priced, we expect this to go quickly.
'Yamazaki 12 year Old is a pioneering malt in Japan, for which Suntory deserve great credit. In its early days, it was rounded and delicate...now it is more intense, confident and elegant. 8/10' Michael Jackson, Whisky Magazine, Oct 2002 IWSC 2011 Gold Medal Winner - Best in Class
A stunning 12 year-old blend from Hibiki, some of the whisky has been part-matured in plum liqueur casks. Lovely malt from Hakushu and Yamazaki, plus some aged grain from Chita, this terrific Japanese blend picked up the top prize in its category at the World Whisky Awards 2010 IWSC 2012 - Gold Medal - Whisk(e)y Worldwide
A beautiful presentation pack from Suntory, pairing up a bottle of Hibiki 12 year old with a delicate nosing glass, all wrapped up in a light wooden box. The whisky itself is an excellent example of Japanese blending: sweet, perfumed and fruity.
A second entry into the 'Spot' range, aged for 12 years and made up in part from spirit matured in malaga casks for a sweet and moreish dram.

The oldest expression in the Connemara range, this fine 12 Year Old peated Irish single malt from the Cooley distillery has won several awards including a Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Fair.
Distilled in 1999, the 2011 release of the unpeated Caol Ila 12yo is an absolute belter - and amazingly easy to drink, even at its slightly scary full strength of 64%. Bottled from first fill ex-bourbon American oak casks, this was one of our favourites in the 2011 Special Releases.
