One of a series of 16yo Bruichladdichs finished in First Growth Bordeaux wine casks. Unfortunately they've managed to spell Pauillac wrongly for this one, which is probably rather embarrassing for former wine merchant Mark Reynier, Bruichladdich's head honcho.
A single cask whisky from Glentauchers, bottled for the Cask Strength Collection by Signatory. Distilled on February 6th 1996 and bottled exactly 16 years later on February 6th 2012 after maturing in a bourbon barrel.
A 16 year old whisky single cask whisky from Caol Ila, bottled by Douglas Laing for their Old Malt Cask range. This was distilled in September 1996, matured in a refill hogshead and then bottled in February 2013.
Originally bottled in 2009, this immensely powerful (60.2%) bourbon-matured Mortlach 1993 was originally destined for the overseas market before being shelved at the last minute, and is now safely back in the SMoS fold. Hurrah!
A lightly coloured 16 year old whisky from Glenlivet, bottled from a single cask by Signatory for their Un-Chillfiltered Collection. Distilled on May 13th 1996, matured in a first fill sherry butt and bottled on September 27th 2012.
A 16 year old single first fill sherry butt matured whisky from Glenlivet, bottled by Signatory for their Un-chillfiltered Collection. It was distilled on 13th May 1996 and bottled on 13th November 2012.
A 1996 vintage Signatory bottling of whisky from Glenlivet, released as part of the Cask Strength Collection. Distilled on May 13th 1996 and bottled on 30th November 2012, this spent the intervening 16 years in a sherry butt. We assume it was a refill cask, as it's not picked up large amounts of colour, and it marries Glenlivet's elegant spirit with light sherry notes.
