A 1991 vintage Ardbeg from independent bottler Douglas Laing as part of their Director's Cut series, reserved for their best casks. Distilled in March, it was aged for 23 years before just 114 bottles were yielded in April 2014.
A 1979 vintage Port Ellen released by independent bottlers Wilson & Morgan as part of their barrel selection series. This was aged for 23 years before being bottled in 2003, by which time the distillery had sadly long closed.

We liked this one. Great old-school stinky kippers'n'slippers PE nose, then chewy peaty sherried loveliness on the palate. A tremendous refill butt - dangerously easy to drink and very highly recommended for that very reason.
