4 Year Old Whisky

The flagship brand produced by the Heaven Hill distillery in Kentucky. A solid 4 year old bourbon.

An excellent-value four-year-old Kentucky straight, offering a very smooth but complex palate. One of the best inexpensive bourbons around.

The second release of Kilchoman's ongoing Machir Bay whisky, bottled in early 2013. It's a vatting of four and five year old whisky matured in first fill bourbon casks, married and then finished in Oloroso sherry butts for four weeks before bottling. From the little sip we tried in early March 2013 it's another cracker.

A litre bottle of Bourbon De Luxe Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey that we think was released sometime in the 1970s. This bourbon has been aged for 4 years.

A rather large two litre bottle of a young blended Scotch bottled at 43% for the Italian market at some point in the 1980s.

The Glengyle distillery, which produces Kilkerran, only started production in 2004. This particular whisky is part of an ongoing project in which they use a solera system to mature the whisky. The Solera cask is only filled with whisky that was distilled in 2004 and bottled exclusively for visitors to "The Tasting Room" (a special Tour offered by Springbank/Glengyle).
