After numerous Preludiums, all of which have been incredibly successful, Sweden's first single malt whisky Mackmyra makes its full debut. Interestingly, some roasted Swedish oak casks were used in the maturation.
And here we have the new edition of the massively popular Mackmyra, Sweden's favourite (okay, only) native malt whisky. This new version is called 'Fresh Swedish Smoke' and will be the last in the Preludium series.
The third of Mackmyra's special releases is a combination of the best 30-litre casks of both the company's malt recipes. The casks used are ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and new Swedish oak, and at only 30 litres each they speed up the maturation process immensely. The whisky itself is described as spicy, full-bodied and fruity.
The 5th bottling Mackmyra's Special range of whiskies, inspired by Autumn forest walks. It's matured in casks that used to hold lingonberry and blueberry wine.
The 6th release in Mackmyra's Special range, inspired by the summer meadows, is delicately fruity and floral, using a combination of bourbon and sherry casks for maturation.
Mackmyra's fourth special release is Double Dip Bourbon, named for its unique double maturation, beginning in larger bourbon casks before ending in smaller hand-made 30-litre casks. The whisky is descrtibed as crisp, fresh and fruity with a sweet spiciness.
