Polski Monopol Spirytusowy, also known as Polmos, was a monopoly introduced in 1924 by the state authorities to increase revenue, due to the high profitability of vodka manufacturing. This monopoly was implemented to control the purchase and sale of spirits and manufacturing and selling of vodkas.
