A recent addition to the El Dorado range of splendid golden Demerara rums from Guyana, this brilliantly versatile rum works well in a luxury Mojito or Rum Old-Fashioned, but is also delicious on the rocks or sipped slowly. A terrific all-rounder.
Awarded the gold medal at the Caribbean Rum Taste Test (held annually in London) no fewer than seven times in the first ten years in which the competition was held! IWSC 2011 Gold Medal Winner - Best in Class
El Dorado 15yo is a remarkable rum, whose greatest achievement was collecting the Wray & Nephew Trophy for Best Rum in the World at the International Wine & Spirits Challenge for an unprecedented four years running.
A single barrel rum produced in the last remaining wooden coffey still in the world at Enmore. One of three single barrel rums in the El Dorado range, each from a different distillery. A complex rum with notes of caramel, vanilla, leather and tobacco.
A rum made in the last remaining operational wooden pot still in the world at Port Morant (spelt by El Dorado as Mourant to avoid confusion with the distillery of the same name in Jamaica). A complex rum with notes of smoke, liquorice, molasses and a hint of peat.
One of three single barrel (and indeed single still) rums in the El Dorado range, this example was made using the traditional techniques of the French Savalle Still at Uitvlugt distillery. An intriguing rum with notes of spice, tobacco and shortbread cookies.
One of the greats from Guyana's El Dorado - the rarely released 25 year old. It's only produced when the sugar cane harvest is of sufficient quality to lend itself to such long ageing, and this time it was the 1986 crop that met the grade, six years on from the last vintage. A fantastic rum.
