A 1999 vintage Trinidad rum distilled at the Caroni distillery and released by Mezan. The distillery closed soon after this was produced, leaving only one distillery on the island, and this would have been produced in their column still.
A 1998 vintage Guyana rum from Mezan, distilled at the now closed and hard to say Uitvlugt distillery. This would have been distilled on their four column Savalle still, which lives on at the state owned Demerera Distillers company.
A 1999 vintage Panamanian rum distilled at Distilleria Don Jose and bottled by Mezan. The distillery was founded in 1936 but Don Jose Varelo Blanco, the founder of the country's first sugar mill, and it's still run by his family to this day.
A 1998 vintage rum from Westerhall in Grenada, bottled by Mezan. Westerhall has been a sugar and rum producer since the 1700s but didn't get round to bottling a rum for sale until 1978. This is lighter and less smoky than other Caribbean rums with light toffee and a hint of mocha.
