A rosé Pineau des Charentes from a traditional pineau producer whose vineyards sit on the hillsides facing Charentes. This pineau is unfiltered and may drop some sediment, so make sure to let the bottle sit before pouring.
Pineau Francois 1er was launched in 1934 and this is their Grande Réserve. Made using a traditional method, the wine is distilled in a coal-fired still and aged in wood for 1 year. 1 part of the spirit is blended with 3 parts grape mush and aged in Limouisn oak for 3 years, before being bottled without filtration. A classic Pineau.
