Dallas Dhu was founded in 1898 by Alexander Edward, a prominent local distiller, with construction being completed in 1899. A 1969 vintage whisky from Dallas Dhu. This was bottled in the mid-1980s, shortly after the distillery closed down, by nearby independent bottler Gordon & Macphail. The distillery has since been reborn as a museum of distilling.
A 1970 vintage Dallas Dhu released by Diageo as part of their now defunct cask strength Rare Malts Series. Dallas Dhu was one of the casualties of the 1983 cull of distilleries and today is run by Historic Scotland as a museum of distillation.
