Speyside Distillery began production in 1990, after a particularly long and exhastive gestation period extending back thirty-four years to 1956 when the land for the distillery was bought by founder George Christie. In the words of the distillery website:

The now discontinued 8 year old whisky from one of Scotland's youngest distilleries. They started production in 1990 after over 25 years of building (a lot by hand) and have now been around long enough to have a 12 year old as their standard bottling.
A 1992 single cask whisky from Speyside Distillery. This whisky has been matured in a Sherry Butt for 20 years before being bottled by Douglas Laing for their Old Malt Cask range.
