Over the years Springbank Local Barley has become quite the sought-after whisky, some even say that their finest whisky is amongst these bottlings. A 1965 vintage official bottling of Springbank. This was released as part of the highly acclaimed and much sought after 'Local Barley' series. The label carries a lovely cartoon-type illustration of a farm and surrounding fields.
A 1967 vintage official bottling of Springbank. Aged for 10 years in a sherry butt, this is an incredibly deep colour. We're not sure if this is due to a very giving cask, or due to the use of paxorette which was common at this time.
A 30 year old bottling of Springbank. We estimate that this was bottled in the 1990s, meaning it is likely some of the spirit was produced using barley from the on site maltings, which closed for the first time in 1960. This is presented in a delightful wooden box.
A 1967 vintage Springbank from independent bottlers Murray McDavid. This was aged in bourbon cask 1314 before being bottled in August 1998 at 31 years of age and received 90 or more points from 5 of the Malt Maniacs on their monitor.
This 'Green Springbank' is legendary in collectors circles, not only for its curious colour, presumably the result of a full-term maturation in a rum cask, but also for its incredible flavours. Serge Valentin rated this bottling at 93 points on whiskyfun.
This is an official bottling of Springbank from the 1965 vintage. Released as part of the much sought after and acclaimed 'Local Barley' series. The label carries a beautiful illustration of a farm and surrounding fields.
A 1965 vintage Springbank. This carries the relatively common black label with white lower band which was used at the time. We estimate this was bottled in the 1980s, a decade when the distillery was closed for production.
A 1966 vintage official bottling of Springbank. This was distilled a few years after the distillery's own maltings closed and barely began to be imported from elsewhere. Springbank bottlings from this era are highly sought after.
Another legendary bottling in the always-impressive Prestonfield, this 20 year old Springbank 1967 received 93-94 points from Malt Maniac Serge Valentin on Whiskyfun and despite being from a multi-cask batch is now extremely difficult to find, having been bottled in the late 1980s.
