A very special edition of Springbank 21yo bottled only for directors & staff, this was the first bottling done to commemorate the new millennium, meaning the whisky in the bottle would have been distilled in the 1970s.
This 'Green Springbank' is legendary in collectors circles, not only for its curious colour, presumably the result of a full-term maturation in a rum cask, but also for its incredible flavours. Serge Valentin rated the sister bottling of at 93 points on whiskyfun.
Over the years Springbank Local Barley has become quite the sought-after whisky, some even say that their finest whisky is amongst these bottlings. Each release is made using locally sourced materials, which Springbank claim are all from within an 8 mile radius of the distillery (except the casks of course).
