A very modern distillery, Tamnavulin was established in Speyside in 1966 during one of the industry’s periodic booms and was one of the most recent distilleries to be built before the current crop of newcomers (Arran, Kilchoman etc).

A 17 year old whisky from Tamnavulin, bottled by Signatory from a single pale oloroso butt at cask strength. It was distilled on November 3rd 1978 and bottled on September 23rd 1996.
A very old distillery bottling of sherried Tamnavulin 20yo, produced for the Italian market at some stage in the 1980s, when they were still using the '-Glenlivet' suffix..
This cask was matured full-term in a Sandeman cream sherry butt and remains the finest expression from this distillery we have tried. Hugely impressive stuff, with complex fruitcake, leather and cognac-esque rancio characters, with a delicious sherried sweetness.
