A 1993 vintage Lagavulin bottled as a special release available from the distillery at the 2007 Islay Festival. A hit with almost all who have tasted it, averaging a score of 90/100 with the Malt Maniacs.
Lagavulin is probably Diageo's most highly-rated distillery, with its muscular peaty presence and flashes of honey sending most of the cognoscenti into a swoon. This 15yo from 1993 is probably the most eagerly-awaited of the Managers Choice series, particularly as it's one of only a handful of sherried single cask Lagavulins ever released.
A 1980 vintage release of Lagavulin's PX sherry matured distillers edition. This particular vintage was actually released some years ago and is now a tad difficult to get hold of.
The legendary first edition of Lagavulin's Distillers Edition, generally considered to be amongst the best of the range. Distilled in 1979 and finished in PX casks to add rich sweetness to the already richly bodied Islay classic.
