In an unusual move, Bollinger have released their 2000 vintage R.D. in jeroboam size only. With a cépage of 63% Pinot Nor and 37% Chardonnay, this R.D. (or récemment dégorgé), this sat on its lees for almost 12 years before being disgorged on 7/7/2012, as a hommage to James Bond. Rich and yeasty, this should be served at no less than 12 degrees Celcius.

To celebrate the exceptional 2002 champagne vintage, Louis Roederer have commissioned Philippe Di Méo to dress 400 of their jeroboams in a protective 24 carat gold cover, named 'Flacon Médaillon'. Created by hand, each bottle took 14 people 4 days to produce, including 2 master goldsmiths, and uses 70 metres of brass ribbon dipped in gold. A stunning look for a sensational champagne.
