Over the years The Whisky Exchange has been acquiring top quality casks of maturing single malt whisky. Since 2005 we have been releasing these whiskies for sale on the TWE website as ‘The Single Malts of Scotland’ range.
These bottlings have been from all the regions of Scotland and have ranged in age from ten to forty years old. The majority of our releases are from single casks of malt whisky, bottled at their natural cask strength, however due to public demand we are now doing some small batch releases and 46% bottlings as well.
The Single Malts of Scotland are always bottled at their natural colour without any additives and are not chill-filtered. This is because we are proud of these whiskies and we believe that they should be experienced in their pure form. We want all our releases to retain their true distillery character in the glass.
These hand-picked malts have been extremely popular and successful, with several bottlings picking up awards and critical acclaim. At the independent ‘Malt Maniacs Awards 2007’ our Glen Grant 1972 34 yo received a Gold Medal, while our Caol Ila 1991 16 yo took the ‘Supreme Bourbon Cask Award’ in the Daily Dram category. In addition, our Highland Park 1990 16 yo won the Gold Medal for ‘Island (Non-Islay) Whisky aged 13-18 years’ in Whisky Magazine’s Independent Bottler’s Challenge 2007, while our Rosebank 1991 16 yo took second place in the Lowlands 13-18 yo category at the same awards.
For customers searching for something different from their favourite distillery, The Single Malts of Scotland offer a range of totally unique expressions of some of the world’s most famous whiskies. We hope that you will enjoy drinking them as much as we have enjoyed selecting them.
