St. David was a bishop and ascetic monk who lived in the sixth century and was so popular that he was beatified in 1120 and later adopted as Wales's national patron saint. The day he died, 1st March, has been commemorated as a national festival by the Welsh for over a thousand years. 1st March is also Beer Day in Iceland and Pig Day in the USA, but attempting to combine all three may be a little over-ambitious.
Help us celebrate St. David's Day with our Welsh brethren with these excellent, award-wining Welsh drinks, including Welsh whisky, Welsh gin and vodka, and even a Welsh cream liqueur - all created at Wales's very own Penderyn distillery, tucked snugly into the foothills of the Brecon Beacons. Penderyn's spirits are distilled in a unique, custom-designed Faraday copper pot still fitted with a purifier and a rectification column, ensuring an exceptionally pure, clean spirit.
So why not treat yourself to a special Welsh spirit created by Penderyn themselves this David's Day? As St. David himself said before departing this mortal coil, 'Gwnewch y pethau bychain mewn bywyd' - Do the little things in life...
