A top-quality bourbon from Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare 10yo is outrageously smooth and deliciously fragrant and woody. Has to be one of the best bargains available in this price range. IWSC 2012 - Gold Medal - Whiskey - USA
Pound for pound this has to be one the best bourbons around. A great starting point for anyone new to bourbon, it won't put you off them like some of the cheaper ones will. I'd recommend this to veterans and newcomers alike!

I drank this in a bar and was instantly blown away. I then had a hankering for it but was on a business trip in Melbourne , and managed to find it in a whisky bar there! It's absolutely gorgeous stuff this.
Indeed Epic as Essex Guy says.
Have to find out how the 17 year old or even the single barrel tastes...

I particularly love American Whiskey and this remains my favourite by some margin. I actually prefer this to some far more expensive stuff. Like when boat owners get bigger boats, and as a consequence they lose contact with the sea, getting more refined and smoother Whiskeys gets to the point where it doesn't have the edge that you crave anymore. 10yr Eagle Rare, for me, has that balance exactly right.
Totally love it.

Good God ! If the 10 year old is this epic then the 17 year old must out of this world. Only one way to find out I suppose...

This is really tasty and smooth. Tastes amazing with the tiniest dash of cola and ice. great value for the price and the bottle just looks the dog's!

Nose (undiluted): Lightly scented oak and vanilla. Palate (undiluted): Fantastically smooth (for a bourbon), yet interesting ride of concentrated sweet rye, vanilla and charred American oak. Layers of spiced rye delicately unfolds upon the palate. Finish (undiluted): Charred oak, ginger and cleansing, fresh Kentucky spring water.

This is just outstanding. Without doubt the best bourbon in this price range by a very long margin indeed. Also, just a quick compliment to Whisky Exchange for their very fast turnaround/dispatch time. Will be a repeat customer for sure!

A beautiful, complex bourbon that further opens up with a drop of water if desired. Sampled as an additional Christmas tipple following a shop based recommendation. Well worth the additional outlay over the circa £20 point - hints of menthol and smokey wood are the reward
