Outrageously smooth and sophisticated, elegant bourbon. Only the very finest spirit can withstand ageing for seventeen sweltering Kentucky summers and still retain this level of quality. Tasting Notes by Pierre Thiebaut, World Whiskies Awards 2012
Plenty going on here - complex nose with some dark cocoa notes combining with menthol, some berries and summer fruits. Very appealing. Mouth-coating, intially quite smooth and integrated then a fruity lift, develops with mint - that cocoa bitterness comes in and builds to a long, quite savoury, finish.

Really really good but having had the 10yr as well i would buy 3x the 10yr instaed of 1x the 17yr. Don't get me wrong if you have the money then fair play, buy one. otherwise get the W.L.Weller 12yr I.M.O. its better for the money by a long way!

Eagle Rare is simply the finest American Bourbon available. In my view it is without peer. It's bouquet, flavor and smoothness is unmistakable, and unforgettable.
