Developed by Master Blender Börje Karlsson, the man who came up with the recipe for Absolut, Karlsson's Gold is made from Swedish new potatoes and instead of being distilled ad infinitum, has been very carefully distilled just once to preserve the flavour and character of the ingredients. This is not just some style-bar gimmick, but a real vodka with real flavour - Bravo.
Taste Slightly sweet, wonderfully silky, almost creamy mouth feel with vegetal notes (new potato skins) and vanilla cream soda.
Aftertaste While the palate is smooth and creamy the finish is quite spirity with cracked black pepper.

The bartender at Del Posto in NYC recommended I try it in a Vodka Gibson garnished with the requisite cocktail onions and some freshground black pepper. It was remarkable. Flavorful, full-bodied and with a long finish but absolutely no unpleasant burn. Certainly the best Gibson, if not the best martini, I've evr had.
