The very welcome return of Compass Box's 'Spice Tree', originally barred by order of the officious twerps at the Scotch Whisky Association, but now reincarnated after a slight tweak in production technique - and there's nothing those lickspittle SWA jobsworths can do about it. Huzzah! Whisky Bible Awards 2011: Best Scotch New Brand; 95.5 Points
A very well made malt, ultra complex fruit-bourbon-vanilla mixture. But... simply too sweet. Would need some peatsmoke backbone.

One of those malts one can go to, anytime, anyway. LIKE. TT (Canada)

Palate (undiluted): Round and sweet flavors of almonds, vanilla, After Eight mint chocolate and poppy seeds which intensify by mid-palate. Mid-palate the sweetness transitions to drying oak.Finish (undiluted):Rich, subdued oak and vanilla transitions into ginger, lime, lemon grass and spices. Final tastes echoing on the palate are of toned down pepper steak spices and cigar.
