A fully organic Bruichladdich 2003, some of which was matured in new wood to produce what they're calling their creamiest ever whisky. Somewhat confusingly, the marketing bumf proclaims this to be the 'World's First Organic Islay', before explaining that a century ago all barley was organic. The name means 'In the Traditional Way', incidentally.

Appearance: Pale, golden, honey. Nose: Dairy sweet, custard aromas in a school canteen, barn hay, cereals. With water opens up to a citrussy, lemon curd, yum. Palate: buttered toast, orange marmalade, barley. Finish: progressive, the smooth delivery builds to something powerful with an enjoyable finale. Look forward to sampling more Organic drams! :-)
