A strange mixture of flavours, drinkable but not really convincing as a premium 'special' edition. There is a peaty undertone, a raisiny sweetness and gingery spice but somehow the overall effect on the palate is somewhat sickly and flat, rather than fresh and lively as one might hope from an young organic Speyside. The 'virgin American' casks were probably a step too far...
