Alfred Lamb's 1939 Special Reserve Rum / Bot.1980s
75cl / 40%
A limited edition of 918 bottles, Alfred Lamb's Special Reserve was distilled in Jamaica in 1939 and aged in a puncheon, a larger cask than the normal hogshead, before being bottled in Dumbarton in Scotland at some point in the late 1980s or early 1990s (we think).

I drunk bottle 217 with my grandad and he fought in the war

This is wonderful stuff - the fragile and delicate structure and beautifully subtle taste and mouthfeel are redolent of a properly aged rum in the best sense - not explosive but exquisite.

i have a bottle exactly the same, bottled in 1949.

I have bottle 454 from this reserve that was my Dads and the paperwork says 50 years so late 80s is correct.
