The first edition of this was extremely popular, with more than a hint of sherry amongst the Springbank brine and smoke, and this version has already been named as Best Campbeltown Malt aged 13-20 at the World Whisky Awards 2010..

Perfumed heather honey over a hearty bowl of porridge, gristy sweetness, cinnamon, cocoa and orange oil. hoeny and bitter orange, weighty in the mouth. With water, cereal notes, mandarin segments and the bitterness vanishes. The finish is warm and fuzzy with good length.

This really is an exceptional offering, on the nose I'm finding an unusual blend of sea spray almost champagne like effervescence, butterscotch and white pepper. The arrival is super-light, a truffle oil coating of the palate moving onto a light sherry and sea-salt stage and finishing with a fresh ginger and long tingling white pepper finish that sparkles like fine champagne.

Absolutely fantastic, alot of dried fruit, black pepper and chili. Very diffrent from your average "single malt"
