After a string of highly-regarded indie peated Bunnahabhains, the distillery has finally released an official version of their heavily-peated malt. Toiteach is Gaelic for Smoky, and apparently there's some sherry influence on this as well. Kudos to Burn Stewart for bottling this unchilfiltered at 46%.
Aroma: Charming peatiness with a subtle nose, prickling strength emanates from the dram.
Palate: Immediate warming peaty flavours drift towards a slightly sweet sherry influence with delicate peppery notes.
Finish: Good robust length with extremely pleasant aftertaste.

Great peaty single malt from Bunnahabhain. Complex, balanced, smoky and peaty with a touch of fruit and undertones of sherry. It is a dram full of character and certainly worth a try.

Really a nice Malt from Bunnahabhain, the sherry influence is subtle and well integrated. Also shows some notes of port cask influence, not sure if there is some there or not, but it's really good. Smoky, peaty, a little hint of smoked meats, and slightly fruity.
