The minimalist label gives little away about this cask strength Penderyn, and judging by the extraordinary colour we initially guessed that this was fully matured, rather than finished, in a single Port Cask. However, the rather enticing producer's tasting notes proved otherwise.

Producer's Tasting Notes

A rich ruby-red tint prepares us for the delicious taste to come.  The nose is as rich as the red colour suggests, presenting aromas of red berry fruits, boiled sweets, dark chocolate and hints of stewed plums. 

In the mouth Penderyn Port Wood Finish is delightfully sweet yet dry at the same time.  Boiled sweets give way to dark chocolate in the mid palate.  The finish is long, leaving mixed fruits, dark chocolate and vanilla
