Dewar's 12 year old blend, called 'Double Aged' due to the 6 months of marrying in oak casks that the whisky does after initial maturation and blending. Dewar's is one of the world's most awarded whiskies, recently winning the Monde Grand Gold across their range.
As someone who normally prefers single malts, this is one of the best blended whiskys around. It is a massive step up from Dewar's White Label and on a par with Ballantine's 17 year old. I am surprised that this is not widely available in shops in the UK, it certainly should be!

I think this great quality blend is really overlooked. It's smooth, rounded and complex, a class act. Worth trying if you find it on offer, otherwise you are spoilt for choice with entry level single malts in this price range.

Tried it when in the Savoy and was very impressed with a smooth flavour with out being tastless. I would describe it as liquid silk good for both begginer and veteran
