Had this set from my son as a birthday present. Haven't decided which I like the best yet, but loving the 57*North!
This is a great way to try the different Taliskers available. I like them all - the 57 degrees north packs a punch (needs to be reduced with water) but has a surprising sweet aftertaste; it's very malty - a nice scotch. But what really prompted me to write a review was the Distillers Edition... I'm totally blown away with this one. For me, it's like a sweet Lagavulin; it has the smoke of Talisker, but is so smooth and has a nice aftertaste that last quite a while. Aroma is intense - sweet from the wine casks, oak, a little smoke and saltiness. Very easy to drink (I'm reviewing the 2003 distilled version). This is now one of my favourite scotches.
Visited the Isle of skye and found this distillery. This is the best whisky I''ve had in my life. Drinking it now as a matter of fact.. and ordering the 57 north to try now. For a great Pete smokey flavor you can''t go wrong. This was the highlight of my trip to Scotland! 8 pound tour with samples. Amazing
Bought as a birthday gift, the recipant was delighted with the gift and has thoroughly enjoyed each bottle.
It's back in now, although it's popular and might disappear quickly...
