Nose: Deeper oak background with sweet maple notes and light vanilla towards the finish.
Taste: A creamy profile as well within the Crown Royal family and ‘velvety’, which is a pleasant surprise at a higher proof. Overall profile exhibits some subtle dried fruit notes, mainly fig.
Finish: Deeper bourbon notes and smooth at a higher proof.

So happy to have been given a bottle of this as a gift. I love the "regular" Crown as a smooth drinkable whisky but this Black version just has an extra kick that makes me wish I had spent the extra few quid myself. If you're a fan of the regular Crown Royal you will love this. Grab a good glass and a good seat, this is a whisky for the night in. 8.5/10

Haven't tried it yet. Love the normal crown, so looking forward to getting a bottle.

My expert and cultured palate has performed an in-depth and detailed analysis of this fine whisky based on flavour, texture, aftertaste, body, and aroma, and as such... I would like to make the following informed comment to describe the essence of this beverage in the best possible context...
"OMMMM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM!!!"

"Nose" (undiluted): Cherries, vanilla, floral and perfumed. Pleasant, masculine, but not what I would call 'refined' or 'memorable.' "Palate" (undiluted): Molasses, dark Christmas fruit cake with lots of rum in the recipe, vanilla, oak and big notes of bourbon. Serious bourbon flavor. "Finish": Finish (undiluted)
The finish is rum like. I am talking Havana Club 7 years with more of that coca-cola-esque fizz/nip.
