Tasting Notes by Simon Difford (CLASS Magazine)
Clear, golden yellow. Tell-tale paint-like nose of a Triny rum but in case the oil paint has been well diluted with sweet-smelling emulsion, aromatic thyme, butterscotch and fermenting fruit. Candied fruit, rubbery palate with burnt plastic and Caramac-like flavours and well-judged drying spicy oak and a hint of pine (strangely quite cognac-like). Medium length, orange zest, varnish, plastic and spiced oak finish might sound bad but is actually quite appealing.
