A 1990 vintage rum from Mezan, distilled at Guyana's Enmore distillery, now closed since 1993. Enmore was the home of the country's famous wooden pot still, now relocated to the state owned Demerera Distillers Ltd's distillery, and this rum would have been distilled using it.

Clear, pale golden. Lightly spicy, creamy butterscotch and dried tropical fruit nose with spicy oak and the merest whiff of mint and eucalyptus oil. Medium-bodied fruity palate with a dry oakyness and pronounced salty smokiness resembling an Islay malt. Long, dry, salty and slightly smoky finish is more whisky-like than you'd expect of any rum. 4.5/5
