A 1984 vintage Benrinnes bottled in 2011 by veteran independent bottlers Berry Brothers after about 27 years of maturation. This was distilled in the year the distillery lost its own Saladin Box and began to buy in malt from elsewhere.
Deep nutty aromas dominate initially. There is a jammy intense fruit that emerges to give quince and bruised apples. The palate is unctuous with bags of apples, yellow fruit and citrus. The finish is long, lingering, sweet and spicy.

John: Unfortunately not... (and thanks for letting us know about the age typo)

Any indication on the label of the type of cask it sat in for 27 years?
