Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling
Only the second official Rosebank since the demise of the Rare Malts series, this 21yo was distilled in 1990 and has been vatted from refill American and European casks. Lighter in style than 2007's officially-bottled 25yo, in a strong field this was another of the hits of 2011's Special Releases.

Tasting Notes:
Tasting Notes by Gavin D Smith for Whisky Advocate
2011 saw the first expression of Rosebank appear in Diageo's annual Special Releases series, and just 5,604 bottles are available worldwide. The bottling is comprised of whisky matured in refull American oak and refill European oak casks. Floral and mildly herbal on the nose, with cereal and tropical fruit notes, along with a hint of damp soil. The palate is somewhat tart, with oranges and pepper, while the finish dries to coffee and spicy oak. A lovely example of a much mourned malt. 89 Points

Thanks for that.

The official number of bottles is 5886. This is what is stated on the label of the bottle. We can only assume that the quantity referenced in Whisky Advocate is a typo.

Is there 5886 bottles or 5604 bottles? Conflicting numbers on this page.

A delicious dram - very light spirit (I think it is triple distilled) with a "lemon cheesecake" nose, perfumed and tastes of pears and peaches. Lovely.
