The beginning of a new range of four whiskies from Highland Park, The Valhalla Collection, showing off Orkney's ancient links with Scandinavia and the distillery's love of history. First up is Thor, God of Thunder and alleged architect of the Cliffs of Yesnaby on the west coast of Orkney Mainland. It's a 16 year old whisky bottled at a full proof of 52.1% and presented in a wooden frame styled after the prow of a viking longboat.

Best ever young malt from Hp!
I tried or more accurately shared one glass with my wife. I immediately bought a bottle. This is without a doubt the best scotch I have ever had. I, by the way, have had many, many different brands of scotch.
Disappointing. That's the frst word that leaps to mind. It's not bad, not by any stretch, and it has some redeeming qualities (the finish is lo-o-o-o-ng), but with all the hype and the packaging and the price, I expected so much more than this whisky delivers. Get the 18-yr old. It's so much better.
