Nose: Very clean, bourbony aromas - lots of vanilla and coconut shell, summer flowers, some hay and faint hints of marshmallows and cut grass. Apples and spices as well. With time develops creamy (natural) caramel aromas. Millionaire shortbread. Seems marginally grassier with water.
Palate: Medium-full. Wave of pure bourbon oakiness, some drying wood, lashings of creamy vanilla and mouth-watering spices. Very sweet from mid-palate onwards, with the shortbread, caramel and apple flavours most prominent amongst the drying spices. Water lifts the spices and oak.
Finish: Decent length, drying and spicy.
Comment: A good summer whisky or aperitif that handsomely rewards a few drops of water and a bit of time in the glass.
