Nose: Very savoury nose with a big hint of soot & smoke, hint of menthol, then goes a bit bandagey. Very complex- also hints of very dark Dundee cake, molasses, dried autumn leaves and very old, soft leather.
Palate: Massive entry, as you'd expect from the strength. Slightly dusty, and earthy, rich but again tending towards savoury rather than sweet, although the dried fruits and molasses are definitely there as well, as is the dry smoke from the nose and some prunes.
Finish: Big and long, very warming.
Comment: Another huge Karuizawa, but remarkably this is still quite drinkable at full strength.
