Batch 44, my first A'bunadh. Sherry dominates the nose, the palate is full flavoured with sweet fruit and spices, the finish is long and surprisingly smooth. Although there is a high alcohol content, it is never overpowering and just adds to the distinctive character of this great dram. It's astonishingly that you can get such a whisky for this price, it will have a permanent position in my collection.

Bring on Batch 45!

This is the fourth A'Bunadh that I've bought and my favourite one so far. Don't be put off by the almost 60% abv if you're wary of cask strength stuff, this release is smooth yet strong and the (still considerable) intensity is about fruity flavours, not fire. It's typical of Aberlour's christmas cake flavours and has a smoother, less spiced finish than 2 of my others. Great value for this monster winter warmer. Go on, have your cake and eat it !!!

I am a Laphroaig fan, and the quarter cask is my number one! I had read so many good things about a'bunadh that I decided to go across the water, so glad I did. We all have different tastes, but for me , you simply will not find a better dram for the money. So full of flavour, a real winter warmer, it's 10pm, I am in the garden and snow is falling. I take a sip and it all comes to life. Treat yourself and enjoy............

I’ve got Batch 41 on my shelf and pound for pound its by far the best whisky I own. V powerful nose at cask strength with all kinds of berries, cherries, sherry (and lots of other ee’s)… On the palate the 59% means there’s real fire, which’ll definitely open your eyes! Take it down with a bit of water and you get lovely sweet spiciness with a super long finish and a gorgeous mouth feel. Fantastic buy!
