Herno Swedish Excellence Gin
50cl / 40.5%
A London dry style gin distilled at the Hernö Brenneri on the east coast of Sweden. They use a homemade wheat spirit as the base and steep their 8 botanicals for 18 hours before distilling in a 250 litre copper still (called Kierstin), hand labelling and bottling at 40.5% abv.

Tasting notes by Billy A

Nose: Sweet anis and porridgey grain, spicy juniper underneath with hints of pine and green leaves.

Palate: Soft and spicy, with creamy edges, pine needles, coriander, sweet orange peel, crushed juniper and lots of syrup sweetness.

Finish: Coriander, lemon, puckering orange oils and some vanilla sponge cake.

Nose: Juniper and lemon verbena; piney and perfumed.

Taste: Juniper to start and then a full, zesty, jammy and floral combination of orange-coriander, followed by some orange and lemon blossom mixed with lemon balm and verbena. The finish is long and lingering, with plenty of citrus. The citrus and floral notes give this gin a contemporary character, but it’s backed up by plenty of pine. Very enjoyable and a fine gin to enjoy on the rocks.
