The distillery takes its name from the village, which stands at the junction of the Fiddich and the Spey. Guinea-gold from an amoroso cask. Beads and legs: a flapper of a whisky. Classic sweet-sour nose: tart enough to make the sweetness palatable. Slightly woody and with the fetid pungency of a rats' cage. With water, a high, malty sweetness shows. The taste is creamy. rich, and of a controlled fruitiness. 'Nectar-like' Ian says 'Ethiopian mead. Would be good with porridge.
