Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Scotch Malt Whisky Society
A 1968 vintage Longmorn from The Scotch Malt Whisky Society. They have named this one "Chocolate boxes and spiced oranges". The angels don't seem to have been very thirsty over this one, after 33 years, it was bottled still at a cask strength of 60.3% and their loss is our gain.

A remarkable whisky from this Lossie distillery favoured by blenders. Distilled in 1968 this hogshead has aged gracefully. The whisky has a refined, amber colour. The first nosing is initially sharp but is soon followed by rich notes of chocolate boxes and spiced oranges. It is well worth trying neat where it is full, dry to finish with a cinnamon bark aftertaste. Water brings out creaminess yet it retains the dry finish and a warming aftertaste. A remarkable chance to taste a whisky from another era.
