Banks The Endeavor Rum / Limited Edition No.1
Product Description

A very special limited edition rum from Banks, named for the ship in which Sir Joseph Banks, who the company is named after, sailed to the South Pacific with Captain James Cook - HMS Endeavour. It is a blend of five 1996 vintage Guyanan rums, aged in American oak for 16 years and bottled in 2011, presented in an engraved, cork stoppered decanter. Banks Endeavour ranked a very impressive 35th in F. Paul Pacult's Spirit Journal Top 120 Spirits in 2013.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by F. Paul Pacult's Spirit Journal

    • Midpalate is tangy, herbal and composed, with moderately sweet tastes of brown sugar, sage and chocolate cake frosting. Finish is delicious and lush. An aged rum that elevates the entire category.

  • Producer's Notes

    • Tightly integrated flavours of tobacco and bread roll across the palate, which gives way to roasted pears and apples ion the mid-palate and celery on the finish. With a complex nose and medium to full body, this dense rum is perfect to sip paired with a cigar.

Customer Reviews

  • Mike Wood

I am afraid to say I am disappointed with this. I am a committed molasses ardent and rhum Agricole irks me. Yet drinking this banks endeavour reminds me of just that. For those that like, or prefer the Martinique style rums this might please. It's definitely full bodied but I and my most 'extravagant' drinking partner did not get anything in the way of fruits, sugars, caramels or even coffee hints.
