The most northerly and least peaty of Islay's whiskies. Red-gold colour from oloroso sherry wood. The smells are concentrated and complex, pungent and stimulating, sour and musty, like an old warehouse. Watered, the spirit becomes sulphurous, but classy, like aristocratic farts. A bit of ozone too; reminds one of the trams. The taste is biscuity, like a fine champagne and the finish is malty.
