I agree with the review regarding alcohol burn on the nose, give this 15-20 minutes to calm down. Reminded me very much of the Aberlour 12 year old. An excellent dram this, lots of toffee and chocolate. One for the winter.

I'm no expert on Scotch--just a person who has consumed many bottles of different 12-year-old single malts over the past forty or so years. For my money Glenfarclas is one of the two best bottles of Scotch I've ever had.
Decent single malt, but too much alcohol on the nose. Need to let it open up for about a half hour. Kind of an amuse-bouche for the Glenfarclas family i.e. this one makes me crave the older bottlings. Glenfarclas excels in quality and price at 17 plus years. Highland Park 12 YO is a better dram and value in this class.

Glenfarclas 10 year old is like Jaguar but he 12 year old is more like an Aston Martin, much smoother with a better ride.
