Glenglassaugh (pronounced Glenglassoch) was founded in 1875, after construction of the distillery in Portsoy, Aberdeenshire was completed. The original owners were Glenglassaugh Distillery Co., however the distillery was acquired in 1892 by Highland Distillers Co, a partnership founded by Wm Grant's and the Robertson family. Highland Distillers (and its parent companies Grant's & Edrington Group) still owns the distillery to this day.
