Nose: Rich and buttery, with toffee and caramel straight off the bat. Behind that lies some sharper fruit notes, hinting at toffee apples and apple pie, and a light touch of fresh leather. Hints of sour cream provide richness and balance for the sweeter notes.
Palate: Softer than might be expected from the nose at first, with liquid caramel leading into a more aggressive wall of fruit and spice - apples, cinnamon and black pepper. Water opens things up, with orchard fruit, rum’n’raisin fudge and soft brown sugar appearing, but only gently tames the spice.
Finish: Lingering spice, with wet leaves, earthy riverbanks and some sour apple.
