Super smooth and unfortunately that's all about there is to the story here. I wouldn't even bother typing this comment here if Auchentoshan 21 was a cheaper dram. It certainly doesn't deserve its price tag, keep in mind that Aberfeldy 21 YO, which is the winner of a Gold Medal and Best in Class at the International Wine & Spirits Competition 2010, is £20 cheaper and has the punch this Auchentoshan lacks, in spite of its higher ABV%.

Super smooth and triple distilled, you could be forgiven for thinking it was Irish! Complex, delicate, soft, rounded, honeyed and plenty of vanilla from the 21 years spent in oak. A lovely, easy drinking, medium weight malt and decent value for the age. You can understand why Jim Murray gave it 93 points. Top of the standard Auchentoshan range.
