A blend named after a defunct distillery attached to the town of the same name a few miles along the coast of Northern Ireland from Bushmills, whence the malt element of this blend is sourced. Not to be confused with the afore-mentioned defunct Coleraine distillery, owned by Bushmills, which closed in 1978, but which did exist as a very limited bottling single malt about fifteen years ago. Hope you got all that.

Customer Reviews:
I have been offered a boxed bottle of CW in pristine condition which the vendor says he was given in about 1978. He has kept it in the same highly polished wooden box from the late 70's. Can anyone steer me in the direction of a sensible price please.

The finest of the northern blends it deserves to be treated as you would a single malt. It is markedly superior to its Bushmills partner.

i agree with simon, mellow and soothing describe this whiskey perfectly, maybe a trifle to much toffee when first in the mouth but laid back and relaxed apart from that, my favorite for an Irish coffee, less sugar is needed as the extra "toffee" compromises

I see my brother Alan has posted comments about this wonderful whiskey. I have one unopened bottle left and cannot bring myself to break the seal. I'm talking to my local Probus Club about some whiskies in my collection and Coleraine will be there amongst them. We're in Bushmills hands now to do the right thing.

A massively underrated whiskey - one of Irelands hidden whiskey gems!

Its one of those light summery whiskeys. Its a dram for relaxing and unwinding too. Drowns quite easily, but I wouldnt be without this bottle in my house. Its not to be compared with scotch whiskys, its not as in your face, its an Irish whisky. Its mellow, and soothing. If you like Irish whiskeys, this is a must. ENJOY

My father, who is 90 this year, and myself really enjoy a tipple of the auld Coleraine, especially as my Gt. Grandfather was a cooper at the distillery. Please don't let Bushmills stop producing it, which they have done since 1978 when they closed Coleraine distillery.
