Found no peat at all, however, there is some very nice and subtle smoke, sweet spices, vanilla, light fruit, and if left in the glass for a while the dram seems to have travelled from Ireland to Islay. A fragrant and very fine Ardbeg (a very special Cairdeas) comes to mind. Yes, I love this dram in summer and winter. Glad to have bought a box at a non Islay price. Highly recommendable.

Tried this when I was in Dublin. First sniff, I thought I had jet fuel. Then, I let it breath a little, sipped slowly, I thought it was amazing. The more you let it breathe and sipped, the greater it tasted. I am absolutely hooked. Can't wait for it to get back in stock and shipped to me in the USA.
I just opened up this bottle last night among 2 close friends. The first sip made us believers. The peat flavor was incredible, evoking an immediate and positive response from each of us. The whiskey is very easy to sip, whether it is neat or on the rocks.
I totally agree with Paddy. When I opened the bottle the alcohol was overpowering. Having left the bottle open a few hours now I can fully get the chocolate notes and some powerful peaty taste like a burnt field. it is a really good one and surprisingly easy to drink even without water
